My Story
My name is Mary Dahlia. I studied piano traditionally from age 7-19, then studied organ for 4 years. After discovering the Simply Music piano program, I became a licensed instructor in 2009 and I'm now a Certified Simply Music instructor.
I love sharing my joy of music with young and old alike. Music has always been a part of my life, for as long as I can remember. I was taught guitar and recorder in elementary school; took voice and organ lessons in college; and have participated in many choirs and handbell ensembles.
Music and music making is an integral part of who I am, and how I operate on a daily basis. Music has truly become my lifelong friend.

I recognize the potential in each one of my students. I am especially passionate about beginning a new journey with students (adults or children) with special needs or who have physical disabilities that limit what they are able to do. It is my goal to further the Simply Music philosophy of helping people to make music a lifelong friend.

Play A Story
Play a Story is a unique program for anyone ages 4 to 104 years old. The method uses story telling, animated books and movie clips to inspire you to improvise (make up) and play your own music spontaneously. It is music that comes from your heart.

Using simple, short musical ideas we help you to tap into your imagination and create your own soundtracks for story scenes. We help you become creative at the piano while learning key concepts of music-making.
